You should know a little about
us, since we will be asking LOTS of things
about you. John
and I have owned, been owned by,
and LOVED Rotties since 1983. We enjoy the
many diverse things you
can do with these gentle,
strong dogs. We cart, {in parades and
at home} show in conformation, in
both the American {AKC} and
German {European} style rings,
and do obedience in both rings as
well. We believe a sound mind and
body are important to developing
the WHOLE dog. We also teach
beginning obedience, conformation
handling and offer temperament testing of pups using the Volhard PAP
test. We have also hosted an American
Temperament Test at our home, sponsored by the National
Capital Rottie Club, and hope to do it again.
We are a "Code of Conduct" breeder,
always breeding according to the AKC breed
standard, and always to "First Do No
Harm". We believe one should focus on the
good of the breed as a whole, and not the
breeder. Our pups are sold under Contract.
Since we
breed according to the American
breed standard we band the
tails on all of our pups, and
remove the rear dewclaws if they
are born with them.
Our pups are born
on our farm, in beautiful Southern Maryland's and
nurtured from day one, to
optimize the already excellent
inborn qualities of this noble
breed. Our 5 children help us
raise each litter, through the
many sports activities and
outings we take. We
even go the extra mile to get our
puppies accustomed to a crate at
a very early age. Feel free to schedule a visit
to our home. We would love to have you get a "hands on
feel" for our dogs!
When we do have a
litter, we have a "puppy party" so everyone can meet and
chat, and many lasting friendships have begun from our puppy
parties, both for us and our puppy people. We do prefer reservations
on pups from expected litters, and once the pups are two weeks old,
we also require a minimum $250.00 NONREFUNDABLE
deposit. If
You are picking up your puppy, please go here
for some great information.
We
also have started a solid breeding program for
the Rocky Mountain
Horse, a Gaited Rare Breed,
and are also owned by a beautiful sweet
natured Appaloosa/Trakehener Stallion
(trained for low level Dressage) and 2
breeding, high colored Appy mares. See the Appy
pages here.
NOTE!! EVERY
picture contained within these
pages are either our own dogs and
cats, or bred by us. Feel free to
use the graphics I have created,
but PLEASE make a link to our
page with them and let me know
you are using them.
